Senior Phase
Higher Applications of Mathematics
Statistics, modelling, finance and planning — assessed partly by project. Higher Applications of Mathematics develops the quantitative skills used in social science, business, geography and health courses.

What is taught, how it is assessed, and what pupils should be able to do by the end.
This Higher suits pupils who want to use mathematics in context rather than pursue pure mathematics. A substantial project, completed under supervision, contributes a large share of the final grade and rewards careful planning as much as mathematical accuracy. The question paper tests the same skills under time pressure.

Past papers
Real papers and official marking instructions, ordered newest first.
Past papers are the most effective revision tool there is — but only when they are marked honestly. Print the paper, work it in one sitting under timed conditions, then mark it against the scheme and write down every question type that cost marks. Bring that list to your teacher.
